Choose the right product

Versions and connections.

What is the difference between Mobile Mouse Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and USB?

Wi‑Fi is the complete application-aware experience for Mac and Windows and requires Mobile Mouse Server. Bluetooth pairs directly with supported Macs and iPads without server software. USB uses a direct hardware connection for compatible devices.

Which version should I choose?

Choose Wi‑Fi for the broadest Mobile Mouse feature set, including application-aware remotes, computer files and applications, and subscription-based Cloud Access. Choose Bluetooth when you want a native offline connection without a server. Choose USB when you need a direct hardware connection without relying on a network.

Where do I get the Bluetooth and USB versions?

For new downloads, use the dedicated Mobile Mouse Bluetooth and Mobile Mouse USB apps. The version selector on the homepage links to the correct product and its setup information.

Local, direct, and cloud connections.

Does Mobile Mouse Wi‑Fi require server software?

Yes. Install Mobile Mouse Server on the Mac or Windows PC you want to control and keep it running while using the Wi‑Fi version.

Do the iPhone and computer need to be on the same Wi‑Fi network?

They should be on the same private network for normal local discovery. The Wi‑Fi version can also use peer-to-peer connectivity or Cloud Access when a local network connection is not appropriate.

Can Mobile Mouse connect over the internet or cellular?

Yes. With an active Cloud Access subscription, Mobile Mouse can reach your computer over the internet or while the iPhone is using cellular data, as long as the computer and Mobile Mouse Server remain online.

Does local Wi‑Fi require internet access?

No. The iPhone and computer only need to communicate with each other over the same local network. An outside internet connection is required only for features such as Cloud Access.

What is peer-to-peer connectivity?

Peer-to-peer provides a direct connection between supported Apple devices when a normal local network is unavailable. Enable the option in the app and server, and keep the required wireless features active.

Can I protect access to my computer with a password?

Yes. The Mobile Mouse Server settings include a connection password. Use a private network and set a password when you want to restrict which devices can connect.

When something is wrong

Troubleshooting.

Why can’t Mobile Mouse find my computer?

Make sure Mobile Mouse Server is running, both devices are on the same private Wi‑Fi network, and the computer firewall allows Mobile Mouse. VPNs, guest networks, and wireless client isolation can prevent discovery.

Why does it connect but not move the cursor?

On macOS, enable Mobile Mouse under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. On Windows, review firewall and security-software permissions, then restart the server.

Why is typing not working?

Verify that the app is connected to the correct computer and that the current server is running. On macOS, keyboard control also depends on the required Accessibility permission.

What information should I include in a support request?

Include the Mobile Mouse version, connection type, computer operating system and version, server version, what you expected to happen, and the exact error message. Those details help support diagnose the issue faster.
